About the Role

The State of Queensland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Education Officer to join the Mathematics Learning Area team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of curriculum, teaching, learning, and assessment programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead teams of casual writers and assessors to support the development of curriculum, teaching, learning, and assessment products and services.
  • Quality assure school-devised assessments and school judgements, and develop and mark external assessments.
  • Work collaboratively with Principal Project Officers and Activity Managers to ensure alignment of products and services with whole-of-organisation directions, policies, and procedures.
  • Revised and redevelop curriculum products and resources, including senior syllabuses and guidelines.
  • Lead the development of the annual subject report(s).
  • Provide timely and high-quality client-focused assistance and support to schools, teachers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice to Learning Area Managers and Assistant Directors on issues related to the implementation of senior curriculum and assessment.
  • Manage and deliver business priorities within designated timelines and using allocated resources.
  • Liaise with government and non-government educational agencies on assigned projects.
  • Create and maintain professional relationships between the QCAA and key stakeholders.
  • Lead forums, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Prepare briefings, correspondence, and reports.
