About the Role

The Department of Education is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Education Officer to join our team in the Metropolitan North Region. As a key member of our Education Services Directorate, you will play a critical role in supporting the strategic vision of the department and contributing to the work of senior schooling in Queensland state schools.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the development and implementation of education strategies and initiatives
  • Liaising with key stakeholders, including school senior leaders, regional stakeholders, and departmental personnel
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on senior schooling practices and priorities
  • Monitoring retention, attainment, and post-school destinations for every student in senior secondary
  • Staying up-to-date with curriculum and syllabus requirements, as well as VET/training system requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in education, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
