IT Security Policy Specialist

We are seeking an IT Security Policy Specialist to play a crucial role in shaping and managing our IT security policies and systems.

  • Create, maintain, and implement IT security policies, procedures, and documentation that align with industry standards and best practices.
  • Support and improve our Information Security Management System (ISMS) using frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, Essential 8, and NSW Cyber Security Policy.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance staff knowledge of cyber security and promote a culture of security awareness within the organization.
  • Provide expert advice on security measures, identify potential risks, and recommend improvements to ensure compliance with privacy and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather evidence, identify risks, and develop recommendations for audit participation and compliance.

  • We are looking for an experienced professional who has:
  • Security Policy Development: A proven ability to create and maintain comprehensive IT security policies and procedures.
  • Security Frameworks Knowledge: Familiarity with leading security frameworks and standards, including ISO 27001, NIST, Essential 8, and NSW Cyber Security Policy.
  • Training & Awareness: Experience in designing and delivering effective cyber security education programs for staff.
  • Risk & Compliance: In-depth understanding of privacy principles, risk management, and legal compliance in IT environments.
  • Audit Participation: Strong skills in supporting security audits, identifying risks, and recommending improvements.
  • Communication: Excellent ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to build relationships across teams and with external stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Ability to stay updated with changes in legislation, standards, and best practices in cyber security.
