Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our Cyber Security and Risk team as a Security Governance Analyst.

This role will involve shaping and managing IT security policies and systems, leading cyber security awareness initiatives, providing expert advice on security measures, and ensuring alignment with key standards and privacy regulations.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive IT security policies, procedures, and documentation that align with industry standards.
  • Support and improve the organization's Information Security Management System (ISMS) by leveraging standards like ISO 27001, NIST, Essential 8, and NSW Cyber Security Policy.
  • Develop and implement training and awareness programs to enhance staff knowledge of cyber security principles.
  • Provide expert advice on security controls and ensure compliance with privacy and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify risks and recommend improvements during audits.
  • Effectively communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain robust IT security policies and procedures.
  • Improve the organization's ISMS by implementing industry-standard frameworks.
  • Design and deliver engaging training and awareness programs for staff.
  • Ensure compliance with key standards and regulations through risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Support security audits by gathering evidence, identifying risks, and recommending improvements.
  • Communicate security information clearly to diverse audiences.
Requirements
  • Security Policy Development: Proven ability to create and maintain comprehensive IT security policies and procedures.
  • Security Frameworks Knowledge: Strong understanding of ISO 27001, NIST, Essential 8, and NSW Cyber Security Policy.
  • Training & Awareness: Experience in designing and delivering effective cyber security education programs for staff.
  • Risk & Compliance: Ability to understand and apply privacy principles, risk management, and legal compliance in IT.
  • Audit Participation: Skills in supporting security audits, identifying risks, and recommending improvements.
  • Communication: Excellent ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaboration: Strong ability to build relationships across teams and with external stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to stay updated with changes in legislation, standards, and best practices in cyber security.
  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science, information technology or related technical field and/or relevant experience.
