Job Overview

You'll be visiting various properties throughout the day, working on Smart Meters in both homes and businesses. These meters enable the efficient distribution of energy, and as a Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring they function correctly.

You'll use a handheld device to complete your tasks, and once done, you'll update all the details on your tablet, keeping records for new and existing customers up-to-date.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconnect Gas and Electric Smart Meters
  • Change SIM cards, modems, and small gain aerials
  • Re-join smart devices to the network while in contact with energy companies
  • Exchange batteries on gas meters
  • Complete site surveys and other support tasks that require a field-based engineer to visit properties
Requirements
  • Located in postcode areas: BH, PO, SP, DT
  • Good geographical knowledge of local and surrounding areas
  • Quick to learn and eager to grasp new tasks and opportunities
  • Ability to use hand tools effectively
  • Experience with handheld tools is important
  • Ability to lift, carry, and climb ladders while ensuring health and safety requirements are met
  • Self-motivated and organized, as this is a lone working role
