Job Title: Civil Design Lead

We are seeking an experienced Civil Design Lead to join our team. This permanent, full-time position offers a competitive salary plus company benefits.

Salary:

The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 AUD, depending on experience.

Job Description:

As the Civil Design Lead, you will be responsible for managing the design and integration of civil engineering components within rail infrastructure projects. You will oversee all elements of civil design, ensuring seamless integration with other disciplines and delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions.

You will work closely with stakeholders to identify civil works required for the implementation of CBTC (Communications-Based Train Control) and the rollout of infrastructure. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with all relevant contractual obligations, including design assurance, systems engineering, configuration control, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the design and integration of civil engineering components within rail infrastructure projects
  • Oversight of all elements of civil design, ensuring seamless integration with other disciplines
  • Deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify civil works required for project implementation
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant contractual obligations
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Bachelor's/Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or related qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 plus years of experience post degree completion
  • 3 to 5 years of proven experience in technical management through all project delivery phases
  • Professional certifications or training in civil design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, etc)
  • Experience with end-to-end delivery of large infrastructure projects, including operator involvement and whole-of-life considerations
  • High level understanding of systems engineering process and rail system safety analysis
  • Proven leadership skills, managing a project team within a large infrastructure project/programme
