Derivatives Trading Desk Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and systems-literate individual to join our client, a top-tier trading firm, as a Desk Assistant for Options Trading.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to enter the dynamic environment of trading with a team of knowledgeable professionals. You will work on the Trading Floor of their excellent CBD office, 5 days a week.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Compile and reconcile trade transactions and positions.
  • Prepare and submit Creation and Redemption instructions for proprietary trading.
  • Assist with maintaining position, P&L, and information exchange.
  • Use algorithmic trading tools under instruction from traders.
  • Update and manage all trading systems, proprietary trading applications, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Act as liaison between desk traders and other dealers, traders, or brokers and internal departments.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years' experience in a trade support/product control/trader's assistant role for Derivatives trading (e.g., Recs, Settlements, Pricing, PnL reporting).
  • Knowledge of Options/Futures/Derivatives products.
  • Relevant degree – e.g., Finance, Commerce/Business, Actuarial.
  • Working experience with Python/VBA/SQL.
  • Very high attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Fluent English skills and full Australian working rights.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial markets and be able to analyze complex data sets.
