Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to become a vital part of our Corporate Accounts Payable division. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver financial, administrative, and clerical assistance to ensure prompt and precise payments to our vendors. This position also involves aiding in the verification and reconciliation of accounting payables, adhering to our financial policies and procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are new to the fields of accounting or accounts payable, and it offers a pathway to advance your career through a contract position.
A typical day includes...
- Reviewing and processing invoices submitted by suppliers.
- Following up with hotels for statements and invoicing clients within service level agreements.
- Assisting operational staff and suppliers with inquiries.
- Collaborating effectively with the broader finance team to ensure accurate adherence to accounts payable processes.
- Maintaining supplier records in the Accounts Payable System.
- Managing the complete accounts payable cycle, including review and oversight.
- Engaging with various departments, upper management, and vendors.
Who we are looking for...
- A relevant degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Basic mathematical and accounting skills are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required.
- Strong attention to detail, along with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Outstanding communication skills are a must.
- A solid understanding of financial concepts.
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.
- Competence in interpreting bank statements, supplier invoices, and related documentation.
- Highly developed customer service skills to foster positive relationships with suppliers, partners, and clients.
- Knowledge of the travel industry is desirable.
- Experience in Accounts Payable or Procure to Pay processes is a plus.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce is advantageous.
