The Role

As Technical Director, Rolling Stock, you will provide technical leadership to support the Head of Rolling Stock in creating plans to further develop technical excellence within the team. You will also be a key player in the development of the team and identifying growth opportunities within the rolling stock sector.

You will:

  1. Drive a culture of technical excellence, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
  2. Manage the delivery of large, complex, and strategic assignments, working closely with other sector leads.
  3. Develop and continuously improve maintenance processes, strategies, scopes of work, and modifications to improve rolling stock safety, performance, reliability, and cost.

About You

We are seeking an experienced engineer with a proven track record in the rolling stock industry. You will have:

  1. An engineering degree and demonstrated experience in the rolling stock industry.
  2. A strong background in investigations, rolling stock testing, fault analysis, problem-solving, trial modifications, rolling stock operation, reliability, and maintenance.
  3. Excellent client engagement and influencing skills, with experience of work winning and delivery in a consultancy environment.
  4. A proven ability to develop long-term strategic relationships with clients and devise and execute strategy and growth plans.
  5. An ability to analyse markets, understand client needs, and convert opportunities into compelling value propositions.
