Job Title

Lead Traffic Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Lead Traffic Operations Specialist to oversee our on-road traffic teams and drive safe, effective traffic management services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and support traffic controllers across multiple sites
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through leadership and guidance
  • Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and audits to ensure compliance
  • Provide expertise on traffic control plans, procedures, and safe work practices
  • Respond to incidents, lead investigations, and manage reporting
  • Support the development of field staff through training and mentoring
  • Liaise with clients to resolve issues and build strong working relationships
  • Manage fleet maintenance, equipment, and compliance checks
  • Conduct drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company policy
  • Assist with return-to-work programs and injury management initiatives

You will play a critical role in operational excellence, team development, and client satisfaction.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in traffic control, civil engineering, or similar field-based industries (essential)
  • Strong leadership and/or training experience
  • Demonstrated focus on health and safety, as well as operational excellence
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage competing demands
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • A customer-centric mindset with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Relevant traffic control and WHS qualifications (desired)
