Postdoctoral Research Scientist Position

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic research team working on a NHMRC-funded project. The primary focus will be on therapeutic testing in cutting-edge 3D models, in vitro and in vivo.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute drug response assays using human cancer cell culture models.
  • Perform biochemical calculations and conduct advanced 3D in vitro organoid assays.
  • Characterise phenotypes using imaging and omics-based molecular techniques.
  • Manage laboratory mice colonies and statistical analysis of experimental results.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a PhD in cancer biology, biomedical science, bioengineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Outstanding academic track record and demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality independent research.
  • Recent wet laboratory experience in cellular and molecular biology, including designing and executing drug response assays.
  • Experience performing advanced 3D in vitro organoid assays and their phenotypic characterisation.
Desirable Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R, Python or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling and analysing large datasets, including working knowledge of bioinformatics analyses.
