Support Worker Job Opportunity

This is an exciting role for a Support Worker who can provide support to children and young people in our foster care program.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  1. Providing various types of support to children and young people, including transportation, social/community support, education and mentoring;
  2. Collaborative support, advocating for the child and participation in our Key Care team Framework;
  3. Assisting in care/behaviour plans for our children and young people;
  4. Completion of required documentation for operational compliance;
  5. Compliance with business policies and child protection procedures.
Requirements
  • Prior experience working with and/or on behalf of children, young people;
  • Energy and enthusiasm, as well as a passion for working with children and young people;
  • A certificate in Human Services or a similar relevant field (minimum Cert 4);
  • A current First Aid Certificate;
  • Confidence and ability to deal with difficult situations;
  • Training/experience in child abuse/trauma related behaviours, youth Mental Health and similar;
  • Tenacity, diligence and resilience - with the ability to adopt a creative approach to problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
