Lead New Verticals Growth Strategist

Job Description:

As a seasoned sales professional, you will play a key role in driving the growth of our new vertical strategies. Your primary focus will be on acquiring key new merchants across insurance, telco, and utilities industries. You will work closely with our teams to identify opportunities for establishing best practices that scale across the wider business.

Responsibilities:

  1. Establish an extensive pipeline of sales opportunities and manage its development, accurately forecasting sales to senior management.
  2. Grow and develop long-term profitable partnerships that deliver value to our merchants, customers, and Afterpay.
  3. Develop new sales strategies and identify high-value prospects.
  4. Develop a deep understanding of the merchant's business objectives and decision-making processes, positioning the Afterpay solution as a genuine value creator.
  5. Conduct solution workshops and coordinate the preparation of sales proposals.
  6. Develop and strengthen multi-level relationships within merchants to form long-term business partnerships.
  7. Stay up-to-date with payment solution offerings from competitors and understand their market strategy and value proposition to differentiate the Afterpay experience.
  8. Engage with our Marketing, Product, Brand, and Commercial teams to share intelligence, feedback, and insights to amplify our growth trajectory.
  9. Lead C-level external and internal engagement and stakeholder management, building advocacy through complex relationships and internal/external engagement.
  10. Develop and refine our Merchant Value Proposition and establish clear marketing best practices, optimization strategies, and plans with our partners, monitoring performance.
  11. Lead Merchant advocacy within the Afterpay business, fostering cross-functional engagement internally across Sales, Marketing, Product, Legal, Risk, and Operations to ensure our product and offering continues to evolve and exceed expectations.
