Job Title

We are seeking a Sterilisation Services Technician to join our team. This is a part-time opportunity with 0.8 FTE (30.4 hours/week) working closely with the Interventional Suite, specialised clinics and wards across the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake thermal disinfection, functionality checks/inspection, packaging and sterilisation of instrumentation for theatres and clinical areas.
  • Comply with AS 5369:2023 standards, Infection Control policy, GENCA guidelines and statutory requirements.
  • Operate, monitor, interpret and document equipment reprocessing requirements.
  • Report and document quality activities.
  • Ensure prioritisation of instrumentation and processes.
  • Maintain the SSD area and equipment in accordance with Standards.
  • Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and risk management activities.
  • Assist with general stock management.

This role requires a strong understanding of sterilisation processing within a healthcare environment. The successful candidate will hold a Sterilisation Service Certificate III or be working towards completion.

  • Experience in Sterilisation processing within a Healthcare environment.
  • Sterilisation Service Certificate III or working towards completion.
  • Knowledge and understanding of AS 5369:2023.
  • Electronic tracking system knowledge and experience.
  • Track record of prioritising workload demands.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and independently.
  • Manual handling principles and techniques knowledge.
  • Commitment to customer service in a healthcare setting.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility in rostering.
