Role Overview


AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our team. As a Design Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of Transmission or Substation assets.


Key Responsibilities



  • Manage and coordinate the design delivery of Transmission or Substation assets between Delivery partners.
  • Act as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders across the technical requirements of the project.
  • Monitor and track design deliverables and schedules, managing RFIs, design changes, and NCRs to ensure successful project completion.
  • Support the construction team to resolve engineering issues during the construction phase.
  • Ensure compliance across technical design, HSE, budget, time, and quality requirements, as well as managing engineering project risks and reporting progress.

Requirements



  • High level of technical knowledge within the design and construction of transmission assets (lines or substations).
  • Significant experience successfully delivering engineering outcomes, including project scope, specification development, managing design reviews, onsite inspection, and safety in design processes.
  • Understanding of transmission system reliability and performance, substation, and transmission system components, performance, and operation.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards, and Government policy guidelines, which govern safety, engineering design, environmental assessment for the implementation of engineering projects.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in the design, construction, and management of large, complex infrastructure projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Structural Engineering or an equivalent and ideally NER, CPEng, and/or RPEQ.
