About the Role
The role of Knowledge Manager involves providing critical airworthiness support to SO1 Operational Airworthiness. This entails the management of Fleet Air Arm critical airworthiness instruments, operational policy and the co-ordination of FAA contributions to FAA platform and other relevant Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) Airworthiness Boards.
This position requires effective collaboration with multiple internal and external agencies in a timely manner, as well as strong organisational and IT skills to store, process and present information to ensure compliance and ongoing aviation safety.
As a key member of the small and high-performing OPAW team at HQ Fleet Air Arm, the Knowledge Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting Commander Fleet Air Arm in his position as the Military Air Operator.
About the Team
The Operational Airworthiness (OPAW) team works closely with the technical (continuing airworthiness) and the Fleet Air Arm Safety Cell (FAASC) to ensure the safe operation of Fleet Air Arm units and aircraft. The team consists of members specialising in Un-Crewed Aircraft operations, flying standards, operational policy documentation and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Extensive experience in data administration activities and techniques, with an understanding of Australian Government data management practices and processes;
- Established competence in auditing processes and associated data management;
- Strong conceptual, analytical and critical thinking skills, and a proactive approach to complex problem solving;
- Experience building complex reports and dashboards using data analysis and visualisation tools;
- Ability to build and sustain stakeholders relationships and provide advice to meet business objectives;
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines;
- Proficiency in using data management systems and tools such as Excel, Teams, Objective,SharePoint and Power BI to manage and analyse data;
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple disciplines, ADF work groups and when required with civil organisations.
