**Disability Support Specialist Role**

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our support team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in disability support, particularly working with individuals with mental health concerns and challenging behaviors. You will be required to facilitate activities in the home and community that promote independence, social inclusion, and NDIS goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct care to participants with disabilities
  • Facilitating activities in the home and community
  • Assisting with daily tasks such as hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores
  • Monitoring and administering medications according to protocols
  • Accompanying participants on outings and assisting with physical challenges

Requirements for the role include:

  • Previous experience as a Support Worker, including mental health experience
  • Certificate 2 or Certificate 3 in Disability or Community Services, or equivalent qualification
  • At least three years of lived experience working with people with disabilities
  • Valid Driver's License with comprehensive car insurance and a confident driver
  • CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
  • NDIS New Worker Screening Card (Yellow Card) or exemption, or willingness to obtain
