Senior Mining Engineer Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mining Engineer to lead long-term planning and mine design for underground operations.

This pivotal leadership role requires technical excellence, strategic foresight, and a strong focus on sustainable underground operations. You will bring expertise in long-hole open stoping with paste backfill and drive collaboration across geology, metallurgy, and operations to align designs with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement long-term mine plans that optimise value and support growth strategy.
  • Act as the Reserve Competent Person, ensuring technical rigour and compliance in ore reserve reporting.
  • Contribute to project studies and expansion planning, providing technical inputs that are accurate and forward-thinking.
  • Prepare schedules for pricing purposes and contract tenders, assisting in evaluating returns from contractors.
  • Apply your underground expertise to safely maximise ore recovery.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to the broader technical team, embedding best-practice planning standards.

About You:

  • Extensive experience in mining engineering with demonstrated leadership in underground operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
  • Expertise in long-hole open stoping with paste backfill is essential.
  • Experience as a Competent Person for Ore Reserves (preferably in lithium or similar mineralisation styles).
  • Proven involvement in technical studies (PFS/DFS level) highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in Deswik mine planning software is essential.
