Job Title: HSE Officer

This role is responsible for promoting a safe and compliant working environment across various sites. It involves ensuring overall compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations, conducting regular site inspections, identifying and mitigating hazards, implementing risk controls, and supporting incident reporting and investigations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • HSE Compliance & Risk Management: Support in ensuring the organization's adherence to HSE regulations and standards.
  • Site Support: Provide support to clients and subcontractors at various sites, ensuring their compliance with HSE regulations and providing necessary assistance.
  • Incident Reporting & Investigations: Assist in investigating incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Safety Documentation & Training: Develop and provide safety documentation and training to subcontractors and new employees, ensuring they understand the organization's HSE policies and procedures.
  • PPE Supplies: Ensure adequate provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) supplies to employees and subcontractors.
  • HSE Systems Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of HSE systems, including managing HSE documentation, supporting software integration, and producing reports and communications.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Cert IV WHS or Equivalent: Hold a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or an equivalent qualification.
  • Commercial Construction Experience: Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial construction.
  • Australian HSE Regulations: Have strong knowledge of Australian HSE regulations and standards.
  • Risk Assessments & Audits: Be able to conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence all levels of the organization.
  • Driver's License & Travel: Hold a current driver's license and be willing to travel to various sites within the Metro Perth region.
  • White Card: Possess a White Card.
