Job Title: Experienced Foreman - Finishing Trades

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced foreman with a trade background to lead our finishing trades team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience as a finishes or general foreman on medium to large commercial/mixed-use projects in Sydney.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting site inductions, managing sub-contractors, and assisting in the commissioning and handover of projects.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct site inductions for staff and sub-contractors
  • Manage sub-contractors to ensure they fulfill their roles and responsibilities, monitoring performance daily regarding safety, quality, and program; report deficiencies to the Site Manager
  • Assist the Site Manager in commissioning and handover of the project by ensuring all relevant documentation is completed and provided to the Project Manager
  • Manage cost control for certain aspects of the project as directed by the Site Manager to ensure the project meets its budget and performance targets
  • Maintain positive industrial relations with authorities and unions, resolving any issues in accordance with client guidelines
Requirements
  • Trade background
  • Demonstrable experience as a finishes or general foreman on medium to large commercial/mixed-use projects in Sydney
  • Proven experience of effectively managing a team including sub-contractors in a professional manner and ensuring longevity of relationships
  • Good understanding of health and safety legislation and requirements; proven experience of effectively controlling site safety
