Career Opportunities for Combat Paramedics in the Military Exist
Combat paramedics play a crucial role within the military. Their primary responsibilities include providing pre-hospital emergency care, resuscitation, evacuation coordination, and primary health care across various scenarios from domestic training exercises to overseas operations.
Location and Work ScheduleTraining typically takes place in Wagga Wagga, NSW, with postings to Army Reserve units located in multiple cities including Townsville, Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart.
Applicants will be required to work part-time as combat paramedics.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements- Age: 17 years or above
- Minimum Qualification: Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) or Equivalent
- Military Training Course: Initial 35-day course
- Combat Paramedic Training: 3 days at local Army unit
- Service Commitment: Minimum 20 days per year, preferably 50 days
