Job Overview

The Mondrian Gold Coast is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the Maintenance and Engineering functions, ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of guests. This role leads the daily operations of the Engineering Team, executing maintenance tasks and objectives efficiently to maintain the property and hotel operations at peak performance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a professional advisory service to senior management to assist in meeting strategic goals.
  • Plan and execute preventative maintenance throughout the Hotel to ensure high standards are maintained for a positive guest experience.
  • Manage and control the Maintenance Request System, regularly analyzing data regarding frequent guest or Property issues, timeliness of Requests/Jobs, and suggest improvements based on analysis.
  • Delegate general repairs and maintenance to the property within the Engineering team or contractors as required.
  • Champion resource management improvements and conservation.
  • Be responsible for routine testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting etc., as required by local Council and Fire Service regulations.
  • Liaise with senior management regarding use of contractors within the Hotel, controlling expenditure and ensuring work meets company and manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure cost-effective and hygienic removal of rubbish from Hotel areas, monitoring to ensure areas are clear and free of offensive odour.
  • Liaise closely with front desk and housekeeping regarding 'down' rooms to expedite a quick turnaround and return to inventory.

Requirements
  • Qualified Engineer (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Chief Engineer/Facilities Manager or similar role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems (Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical etc).
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards related to facilities management.
  • Body/Owners Corporation Experience.
  • Strong project management experience.
