Senior Renewable Energy Asset Manager

This is a key role in our onshore renewables team, responsible for the daily management of large-scale solar plants in Australia. The successful candidate will ensure best practice for safety, quality and environmental performance, while enhancing the overall returns and value of each project.

About the Role

The Senior Renewable Energy Asset Manager will contribute to the development of policies, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant procedural and contractual requirements.

They will manage a portfolio of up to 5 sites with a capacity of ~1000MW, located in Australia. The goal is to maximize total return for each asset through analysis of system efficiencies and identification of opportunities for improved performance.

The successful candidate will establish a collaborative relationship with EPC & O&M contractors to maximize safe asset performance and operation.

They will build strong team relationships and establish effective communication and collaboration working practices with client-owners.

Requirements
  • Knowledge of Australia and global renewables market (large-scale solar PV and battery storage).
  • Understanding of key contracts to manage and awareness of critical stakeholders to manage for a based solar or battery asset.
  • Knowledge of the Solar (and BESS preferably) asset lifecycle.
  • Technical knowledge (preferable but not essential) of large-scale solar and battery assets.
  • Strong process orientation and technical IT skills to support automation of processes.
  • Proficiency in SAP financial systems.
Experience
  • 5 years' experience in the role, preferably in the solar market.
  • The ideal candidate may have worked for financial investors active in the renewable space internationally, and IPP or a vertically integrated developer.
  • The ideal candidate will have proven track records delivering FAC processes/O&M handovers.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Team working skills.
  • Problem solving and proactive attitude.
  • Detailed oriented and well organized.
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively under pressure of tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
  • Effective track record in managing successfully sites from remote location.
  • Driving license is advantageous given requirement to attend site visits.
  • Process oriented.
  • Strong technical IT skills (Excel, PowerBI, etc.).
