Digital Learning Experience Designer

RMIT University, a leader in education and innovation, seeks an experienced Digital Learning Experience Designer to join its team. This fixed-term position, lasting four months, offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge digital learning resources and environments.
The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of curriculum and digital learning resource specialists within the RMIT Library Digital Learning Team (DLT). Together, they will implement key initiatives that enhance student learning experiences and promote academic excellence.
About the RoleAs a Digital Learning Experience Designer, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of digital learning resources and environments. Your expertise will help shape the user experience and ensure seamless interactions between systems and platforms.
You will play a vital role in supporting educational programs, promoting best practices in digital learning, and empowering staff to adopt new methods and tools that engage students in their learning journeys.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop digital learning resources and environments that meet current requirements for blended learning and accessibility.
- Collaborate with the DLT team to implement key initiatives and projects that enhance student learning experiences.
- Work across multiple projects, including the Learning Lab migration project, interface design for an online repository of digital learning objects, and direction for modifications to service design for digital resources managed by the Library.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment, balancing workflows and priorities in a dynamic setting.
- High-level interpersonal and professional communication skills to interact effectively with diverse individuals and teams.
- Web content experience is highly desirable, particularly in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and their role in content management systems.
- A professional background in secondary or tertiary education is desirable.
- Demonstrable experience in leading digital design informed by analytics, prototyping, user stories, and research to drive engagement outcomes and improvements to the customer journey.
This position offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development within a dynamic organization. The estimated salary range for this role is $85,000 - $105,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
