About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Youth Health Specialist to join our team at the Women's and Children's Health Network. In this role, you will be responsible for engaging young men and fathers who are disadvantaged or vulnerable to access primary health care services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering therapeutic trauma specialist counselling and group services to young men and fathers
  • Developing quality outcomes for clients through youth health care services within a therapeutic approach
  • Improving service access and outcomes for young people and pregnant/pregnant and parenting women through partnerships with young people and their families and other health professionals

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Critical thinking skills to analyse and respond to changing client needs
  • The ability to work within a gender accountability framework when working with young fathers and their partners in a Domestic and Family Violence context
  • A high standard of therapeutic counselling service delivery and support for young men and fathers with complex needs
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills to work with young men and fathers in individual and group settings
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders
