
Senior Risk Management Professional

Our organisation requires professionals to partner with management and outside counsel, helping clients comply with regulatory requirements, respond to situations of noncompliance, and improve processes around information systems supporting governance, risk and compliance (GRC).
We help clients manage risks through a combination of assessments, process improvement, and model review and validation. Our professionals develop lasting relationships with client personnel, striving for quality product delivery.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and deliver risk service offerings, including corporate governance, enterprise risk management, operational risk, credit risk, market risk and regulatory compliance
- Support initiatives that provide perspective on risk and compliance, promoting the company brand, increasing client awareness of competencies and capabilities, and generating access to senior client personnel
- Target specific organisations, building relationships with Executive and Senior Management teams to gain understanding of their business operations, challenges/issues and potential risk needs
- Lead the delivery of risk projects, managing scope and approach, driving and supporting teams, and managing client deliverables to time, cost and quality
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
- Prior experience in operational risk management, credit risk management, market risk, quantitative risk management and/or economic capital is preferred.
- Experience in the corporate or financial services sectors is strongly preferred.
- Excellent project management, people management and supervisory skills are required.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact in team environments and foster client relationships are essential.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including ability to capture complex situations and articulate pragmatic commercial recommendations and solutions are necessary.
- Must work creatively and analytically in problem-solving environments
- Demonstrated excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
- Proven Business Development skills
- Demonstrated mentoring and people development skills
- Confidentiality and professionalism are expected
- High stress tolerance is necessary
- Prior management and direct supervisory experience in team environments is required
- Ability to work well in team-oriented environments as well as independently is crucial
**Technical Knowledge and Skills:**
- Broad experience in governance, risk and compliance, and familiarity with standards and reference points relative to local markets and defined industry sectors is desired.
- Technical experience and depth in designing risk management frameworks, including aspects of governance, people, methods, tools and techniques, and reporting is required.
- Understanding of major risk categories, including strategic, operational, regulation and compliance, and financial risks is necessary.
- Practical experience of implementing risk management into businesses and/or managing risk functions, including use of risk management in strategy and business planning, programmes and projects, budgeting and resource planning, performance management and executive and Board reporting is expected.
- Ability to review, analyse and evaluate key elements of clients' operating models, including value chain, support functions and enabling activities relative to market practice, and specific risk issues/events is required.
- Strong project management and change management skills and experience to understand and evaluate client projects and initiatives, and support successful progression of risk and compliance projects are necessary
**Education and Professional Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in relevant quantitative discipline (e.g. Accounting/Finance, other business-related fields, or engineering/physical sciences) is required.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. chartered accountant, risk management qualification) are desired.
- At least 5 years of experience in related field, preferably in professional services firms is preferred.
