Job Title:

Lead Practitioner of Family-Based Care Services

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate professional to lead our team in delivering high-quality family-based care services. The Lead Practitioner will be responsible for enhancing foster carers' capacity to meet the needs of children and young people in placement by leading formal trauma-responsive trainings.

The successful candidate will provide clinical consultation, supervision, support, and practice development for FBC staff, ensuring quality assurance through clinical advice on service delivery improvements. This role requires a strong understanding of trauma-informed practices and a passion for delivering exceptional services to vulnerable children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Empower and train a dedicated team of FBC staff and foster carers with innovative and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Navigate and manage complex cases with professionalism and insight, providing expert guidance and co-working where necessary.
  • Craft and oversee the implementation of personalized, culturally sensitive care plans that truly resonate with the needs of children and young people.
  • Champion continuous improvement by steering research initiatives, shaping policy development, and evaluating programs to adapt and thrive.

Requirements:

  • Hold or be willing to obtain a current Working with Children Check.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a current Safe Environments Certificate.
  • Hold a current unencumbered Australian driver's licence and be willing to drive.
  • Undertake rostered on-call responsibilities as needed.
  • Willingness to work occasional flexible hours to meet operational requirements.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or equivalent relevant field.
