Council seeks an experienced Resource Recovery Officer to manage the delivery of projects, programs and reporting identified within Council's waste strategy and community strategic plan.

This role plays a key part in driving a sustainable approach to operational management and service delivery, working on programs identified in our Resource Recovery and Waste Strategy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and implementing resource recovery initiatives, such as recycling contamination programs in apartment buildings
  • Developing and managing behaviour change projects and community education programs to reduce waste and promote recycling
  • Delivering engagement initiatives to meet Council's resource recovery targets, including organizing events and workshops
  • Supporting the team in responding to customer enquiries related to waste and reporting on waste and recycling data
  • Promoting resource recovery and sustainability within the organization to help Council meet its ambitious environmental targets

We seek someone with a tertiary qualification in an environmental, science or communications field, or demonstrated technical skills and knowledge gained through 2 years minimum experience.

A strong background in developing, implementing and evaluating environmental projects or programs is essential, as is experience in delivering events, workshops or other community engagement activities.
