Job Opportunity:

Training Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our training team as a Training Assistant.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Head Trainer in all aspects of the training business.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Implementing exercise routines and schedules developed by the trainer
  • Following supplement and stable vet schedules
  • Excellent horsemanship skills
  • Demonstrating knowledge and proven experience to train, educate and manage young and older horses
  • Recognising and identifying injuries in horses and treating minor injuries
  • Maintaining and preparing horse records, including trackwork schedules and training programs
  • Operating and maintaining hazardous equipment and identifying any associated risks, occupational health and safety issues
  • Liaising with Vets, farriers, transport companies
  • Managing staff situations in a clear concise manner
  • Overseeing both experienced and inexperienced staff, offering advice and help as required
  • Managing some owner communication on behalf of the Head Trainers
  • Management of equine tracking technology and analysing results
  • Strong level of English skills both written and verbal
  • Representation of the stable on Raceday
  • Stable hand duties
  • Managing staff and weekly work rosters
