About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Engineer Cadet to join our Infrastructure Delivery team at Tweed Shire Council. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside experienced engineers on a range of projects, including road and footpath construction, water and wastewater management, and other infrastructure initiatives.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and practices through rotations across multiple teams.
  • Develop strong technical skills and gain valuable hands-on experience.
Requirements
  • Current students enrolled in their final year of a Bachelor of Engineering degree.
  • Strong academic record, particularly in relevant subjects to the position.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and individually.
  • Demonstrated sound written and oral communication skills.
  • Aptitude to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
  • A positive attitude and self-motivated.
  • Current driver's license.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary package, with a starting base salary of $72,400 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation.
  • Salary progression based on satisfactory completion of study and work performance.
  • Council will cover the associated course costs for the final year of your degree.

  • 70 hour fortnight, 9 day fortnight.
