Seeking a skilled Lawyer to deliver high quality legal advice and services in medical defence matters.

About the Role

This role will see you work on a variety of medical defence cases, including litigated and professional conduct matters. You will provide timely legal advice and services to our clients concerning Medical Board investigations, Coronial inquests, Medicare reviews/Committees, HCCC claims and preparing hearings for VCAT.

  • Relevant tertiary legal qualifications are required.
  • You must be eligible to hold an unsupervised practising certificate as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia.
  • Demonstrated post admission experience in private practice (ideally 2-4 PQE) in medical negligence is preferred.
  • Previous experience in conducting all phases of litigation and/or professional conduct cases is essential.
  • Previous experience in employment law is an advantage.
  • The ability to express ideas effectively with excellent written and verbal communication skills is required.
  • A high level of prioritisation, time management and self-management skills is necessary.
  • The ability to mentor and support junior team members is important.
  • Good computer literacy and competency to work in an electronic document management environment is required.
