Job Overview

The State's operating liquidity management process will be maintained and enhanced by a highly skilled Cash Optimisation Specialist. This role is part of the cash management function for one of Australia's largest liquidity pools, contributing to significant budget outcomes.

This Cash Optimisation Specialist will work closely with agencies and external stakeholders, including NSW Treasury Corporation and banking partners, to maintain the process and system for the State's operating liquidity.

The successful candidate will develop strong working relationships with Treasury teams and agency counterparts to gain insights into business drivers and develop reports that support key forecasting outcomes. Effective communication and collaboration are crucial in this role.

This position is part of the Banking and Financial Services Division within the Procurement Reform and Banking Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight and management of the State's forecasting processes.
  • Providing subject matter expert support and operating multi-bank liquidity pools within parameters.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships that lead to sharing of knowledge and insights.
  • Finding ways to improve financial or operational processes, ensuring data completeness, compliance, and accuracy.
  • Representing Treasury at internal and external working forums, identifying forecast risks and monitoring relevant business drivers.
