Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 Mental Health Westmead to join our team at Southern NSW Local Health District. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert clinical leadership and supervision to our mental health team, while also offering consultation and advice in the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Clinical Leadership: Lead and supervise the mental health team, ensuring high-quality patient care and safety.
  • Expert Consultation: Offer expert consultation and advice in the Emergency Department, utilizing your advanced clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Develop Specialist Practices: Lead the development of specialist mental health nursing practices, ensuring evidence-based care and best practices.
  • Conduct Research: Conduct research and apply findings to improve clinical outcomes, contributing to the advancement of mental health nursing practices.
  • Education and Training: Plan and deliver targeted education programs for staff and patients, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
Requirements
  • Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Experience: Minimum of five years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, including a minimum of three years full-time experience in the specialty field.
  • Qualifications: Approved postgraduate nursing qualifications relevant to the field in which appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by WSLHD or working towards the same.
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability to provide an expert client-centred consultancy practice, participate in direct patient care provisions, and act as an exemplary role model by living the organisation's values.
