Counsellor Advocate Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our organization in the role of Counsellor Advocate. The successful candidate will provide specialist counselling services to individuals who have experienced sexual assault, as well as their support people.

The position involves providing therapeutic services and intervention to children and young people who engage in harmful sexual behaviours. You will work closely with clients and their families to address complex interpersonal trauma and family violence issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist counselling to individuals who have experienced sexual assault
  • Develop and implement therapeutic plans to address complex interpersonal trauma and family violence issues
  • Collaborate with clients and their families to identify and address needs
  • Work with children and young people who engage in harmful sexual behaviours
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community agencies and service providers

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in social work or a related field
  • Skills and experience in working with victims of sexual assault and their families
  • Knowledge of and interest in working with children with problem sexual behaviour and their families
  • Working with Children's Check and National Police Check
