Job Overview
The role of the Psychologist is to provide specialist psychological services and therapeutic support to children, young people and their families who have experienced family violence. This position is an opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of those affected by family violence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist children and young people to recover from the effects of family violence trauma through the delivery of developmentally appropriate specialist psychological services and therapeutic support.
- Undertake psychological assessments of children, young people and their families using standardized assessment methods.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, case management services and referrals to appropriate agencies.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of programs for clients of the Children and Young Persons' Program (CHYPP) and Family Violence Counselling and Support Service (FVCSS).
Requirements
To be successful in this role, applicants must have:
- A tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Working with Children Registration.
- Current Driver's Licence.
Desirable Requirements
Registered Psychologist, giving eligibility for membership of the Australian Psychological Society, with relevant tertiary qualifications and clinical experience in the human services sector.
Benefits
This is a permanent full-time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight. The salary range is $110,425 - $121,907 per annum. In addition, the following allowances may be available: Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.
