Product Category Specialist

The role of Product Category Specialist involves supporting category managers in developing consumer-focused and commercially led insights. This includes working closely with cross-functional teams to drive business growth, enhance product offerings, and improve customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Expertise
  • Contribute to key category workstreams including range reviews, brand business reviews, NPD planning, pricing & promotional analysis, and merchandising strategy.
  • Manage data platforms, primarily Circana/IRI scan databases and Power BI dashboards.
  • Maintain and enhance analytics/reporting tools, including brand and customer KPI tracking and shopper panel templates.
  • Promote internal adoption and use of data and insights tools.
  • Identify opportunities to automate reporting and streamline administrative tasks.
  • Drive process efficiencies across key workstreams.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to achieve common goals.

Requirements for this role include 1–2 years of experience in a related field, a tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Data Science/Statistics, or a related field, and intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint). Strong analytical skills, the ability to identify trends, derive insights, and work with multiple data sources are also essential. Outcome-focused individuals who can turn data into actionable insights will be successful in this position. Additional requirements include strong interpersonal skills, excellent time management, prioritisation, and organisational abilities, commercial awareness, and interest in the retail/FMCG landscape.

Skills and Qualifications:
