Job Role Overview

The Special Care Nursery is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Ward Assistant and Clerk. As part of this unique dual position, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient-focused service and support to our patients and their families.

This role requires excellent clerical, communication, and time management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment and prioritise tasks to meet changing demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform cleaning tasks according to the departmental schedule.
  • Porter patients as required.
  • Assist nursing staff with safe manual handling of patients.
  • Manage waste disposal, linen, and sharps containers.
  • Deliver and collect files and mail as directed.
  • Restock stores and monitor supply levels.
  • Order supplies and equipment for the Special Care Nursery.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Excellent patient/customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and under direct supervision.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential.
