Operations Manager Job

The Liverpool NSW bakery is a large manufacturing site, comprising four production areas, including a fresh bun bakery and frozen products.

We strive for excellence in food safety and sustainability across all our bakeries.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Daily Operations Management: Oversee daily production operations to ensure efficiency and quality throughout the Fresh bakery.
  • Team Leadership/Mentorship and Development:
  • Recruit, onboard, and motivate employees to fill roles with capable and engaged individuals. Nurture talent and develop future leaders to drive the team forward.
  • Coach and mentor Team Leaders, conduct performance evaluations, and provide recommendations for employee development.
  • Production Planning and Scheduling: Plan and coordinate production activities to ensure efficient operations. Manage rostering, scheduling, and payroll activities.
  • Compliance Management: Maintain compliance with quality policies, safety standards, and company procedures.
  • Reporting: Provide accurate and timely reports on production performance, inventory, and business outcomes.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Implement initiatives to enhance production processes and improve efficiency.
  • Foster effective communication within the team and organization.
About You:
  • 3+ years' experience in complex manufacturing environments, preferably within the bakery/FMCG/food/pharma sectors.
  • Previous track record of leading medium to large teams, with enhanced employee engagement and top performance.
  • Conflict resolution skills to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Excellent time management, prioritizing, and problem-solving skills, with sound decision-making in fast-paced situations.
  • Strong communications skills, adaptable to diverse audiences.
