Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as an Associate to the Honourable Justice Tinney in the Supreme Court of Victoria.

About the Role

This is an ongoing, full-time position that offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the Criminal Division of the Supreme Court.

As an associate, you will be responsible for:

  • Proofreading and editing court documents with high accuracy
  • Maintaining court records and preparing material for use by the Judge in court efficiently
  • Clerking in court with confidence
  • Speaking in court, including empanelling juries, taking verdicts and arraigning the accused effectively
  • Liaising with court staff, the public, the media and the profession professionally
  • Accompanying the Judge to circuit courts in regional Victoria, as and when required

Key Responsibilities

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A strong academic record demonstrating your ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent proofreading, editing, typing and computer skills to produce high-quality work
  • An advanced organisational capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Proficiency in English grammar to communicate complex information accurately
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships with stakeholders
