Role Overview

This is a permanent full-time teaching position at an educational institution.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher to specialise in teaching students with special needs.

The successful candidate will have approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with Autism, Behaviour Difficulties and Emotion Disturbance. They will be willing to teach a range of subjects across the curriculum and demonstrate capacity to work collaboratively to develop Individual Education Plans and/or Personalised Learning and Support Plans for students with disabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching students with special needs
  • Developing individual education plans
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues

The ideal candidate will have strong classroom practice and behaviour management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with students, parents and staff. We welcome applications from teachers who share our passion for working with students with special needs.

Responsibilities

The role requires a teacher who can work independently and as part of a team to provide high-quality educational programs and support services to students with special needs. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a relevant teaching qualification and have experience working with students with special needs. They will also require strong organisational and time management skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to commencement.
