About Our Role:
This is a unique opportunity to work alongside law enforcement as a Senior Social Worker in a specialist role. The role involves conducting crisis mental health and family violence assessments, facilitating access to support services, and providing secondary case consultation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting crisis mental health and family violence assessments at the request of law enforcement
- Facilitating timely access to a range of support services that is consistent with client and their family's need
- Providing secondary case consultation and technical input on complex cases
- Operating within legal frameworks pertinent to both family violence, child safety and mental health
- Providing brief interventions to a small caseload of complex individuals who experience both mental health and family violence struggles
- BUILDING AND MAINTAINING POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH KEY STAKEHOLDERS (MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES AND POLICE STAKEHOLDERS TO FACILITATE A PARTNERSHIP AND COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE)
Your Skills and Qualifications:
- Qualifications in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology or similar; OR RELEVANT SECTOR EXPERIENCE IN A SIMILAR ROLE
- Senior Social Worker Level - MINIMUM 5 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN MENTAL HEALTH
- Strong experience working with individuals who have experienced domestic and family violence
- Sound knowledge and demonstrated experience in performing mental health assessment, risk assessment and delivery of therapeutic interventions
- Demonstrated experience in developing and nurturing stakeholder relationships
