The Orange Door (TOD) was created in response to the Royal Commission into Family Violence and operates as a single area-based entry point for vulnerable families and children, including victims/survivors of family violence, families with children at risk of abuse or neglect, and perpetrators of family violence, to access services when and where they need them.
NSFVS provides a Specialist Family Violence team within The Support and Safety Hub (also known as The Orange Door) in the North East Metropolitan Area (NEMA) as per Recommendations 37 and 38 of the Royal Commission into Family Violence.
Location: Heidelberg, Wurundjeri Country Position: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $114 K + 11.5% superannuation & salary packaging up to $15,900 pa The Orange Door operates within a matrix management structure, providing Intake and Assessment on a short-term basis, with victim survivors being referred externally for longer-term support.
Key Responsibilities The Specialist Family Violence Team within The Orange Door (Hume Moreland) employs the Senior Specialist Family Violence Hub Practitioner who plays a critical role in: Supporting staff Triaging referrals Family violence risk assessment and safety planning Engagement of victim survivors and their children This role also involves supervising, mentoring, and coaching direct service workers and providing a framework to guide staff in their practice.
Training programs offered as part of the induction include: Integrated Practice Framework Information Sharing Regime Hub site induction and worker health and safety About You You will hold at least a Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or an equivalent, met through the 7 Equivalency Principles, in line with mandatory requirements.
