About the Role

This is a fixed-term, full-time appointment for a period of two years. The successful candidate will be employed at a salary level of 8/9, with a remuneration package of $113,063 - $140,000 per annum, inclusive of superannuation.

The position is based at the University of Wollongong Innovation Campus, with remote working arrangements and part-time options available in line with University policies and business needs.

About the ePPOC Initiative

The electronic Persistent Pain Outcomes Collaboration (ePPOC) is a research consortium within the Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health at the University of Wollongong. The initiative aims to improve services and outcomes for patients through benchmarking of care and treatment, and supporting service improvement.

ePPOC collects a standard set of clinical information from specialist pain services, which is used to guide treatment for individual patients, measure outcomes following treatment, and provide a benchmarking system for the pain sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead activities of the ePPOC data team, who maintain and develop the ePPOC dataset and outputs through quality improvement, methodological innovation, and technological change.
  • Be responsible for data management, analysis, and reporting of a large Australasian chronic pain outcomes dataset.
  • Develop and implement automated workflows to integrate statistical results into other environments.
  • Have a broad understanding of the Australian and/or New Zealand healthcare system.
Requirements
  • Hold a relevant degree with a strong mathematical/statistical component, preferably at postgraduate level.
  • Demonstrated experience in data management, project management, and data analysis and modelling with large datasets using SAS and R.
  • Experience with automated workflows and a broad understanding of the Australian and/or New Zealand healthcare system.
