Water Infrastructure Project Leader

Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Associate / Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary water team in Newcastle. This role requires extensive experience delivering complex engineering solutions in the water sector, with a proven track record in mechanical design, commissioning and operations, and troubleshooting across large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality mechanical designs for treatment plants and pumping stations, including equipment selection and specification, process optimisation, construction support, and implementation of robust risk management practices aligned with WHS requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions for water infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and other engineers.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues related to project delivery.

Requirements: To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on water infrastructure projects.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, project managers, and other engineers.
  • Familiarity with digital engineering platforms and tools.
  • The ability to deliver under pressure and meet deadlines.
