Family and Injured Workers Advisory Committee – First Co-Chair/Member Positions

We are seeking applications for the Co-Chair and member positions of the Family and Injured Workers Advisory Committee. The Committee will provide advice to the Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations and Commonwealth work health and safety regulators about the needs of people affected by workplace incidents involving death, serious injury or illness.
Key Responsibilities- Co-Chair Position:
- Provide leadership and direction for the Committee
- Collaborate with the Second Co-Chair to achieve Committee objectives
- Develop and implement the Committee's workplan and governance framework
- Represent the Committee in discussions with the Commonwealth, workplace safety regulators, and other stakeholders
- Identify system-level issues impacting affected persons and propose reforms to address these issues
- Member Positions:
- Contribute to the Committee's work by drawing on personal experience and expertise
- Represent the Committee in discussions with workplace safety regulators and other stakeholders
To be eligible to apply for the Co-Chair and member positions, applicants must have lived experience of being impacted by a serious workplace incident resulting in serious workplace injury, illness, or fatality.
Applicants will be either:
- A person who has experienced a serious workplace injury or illness
- A family member or carer of a person who has been killed in a workplace incident or has experienced a serious workplace injury or illness
- A person affected directly or indirectly by a serious work-related incident suffered by another person
