HVAC Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will contribute to the overall service delivery of the Business Unit by undertaking tasks including, but not limited to, preventive, emergency, and corrective maintenance utilising trade skills, recording and reporting on required work, assisting with project investigations, and completing training and other physical tasks.

Working with a wide variety of clients, internal and external to the Parliament, in a dynamic work environment where priorities and deadlines frequently change.

Undertaking a medical assessment to determine fitness-for-duty prior to appointment and demonstrating the physical capacity to perform the full range of duties, including bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and lifting heavy tools/equipment.

Required to be well-presented, neat and tidy at all times, professionally courteous, and abide by the Parliamentary Service Values and Codes of Conduct.

Essential Requirements:

  • Trade qualification in HVAC (air conditioning/refrigeration) is essential.
  • A minimum disconnect/reconnect electrical qualification is essential.
  • Ability to work alone or part of a team.
  • Ability to be on-call (rotating roster) and flexible in start/finish times.
  • At times, required to mentor apprentices.
  • The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance.
