Job Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Clinician to provide specialist mental health services to children, parents, and carers in remote areas of Far North Queensland.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver one-on-one clinical counselling sessions, including play-based therapy for young people and their parents, addressing challenges such as stress, grief, and trauma.
- Provide educational sessions for school staff to support children dealing with anxiety and other learning difficulties.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care and build strong partnerships to enhance the quality of service delivery.
- Registration with AHPRA or membership of the AASW is essential.
- A postgraduate qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health Nursing is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in a relevant clinical field is necessary.
- Demonstrated experience in brief interventions, therapeutic counselling, case management, and mental health education is required.
- An understanding of issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing is crucial.
