Job Description

The La Trobe University seeks a skilled Research Fellow to join their team.

This is a 12-month fixed-term position, providing an opportunity to make a significant impact on the development of a Materials Intelligence Platform.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering a platform prototype for local workstation, on premises HPC and cloud deployment.

Key outcomes of this role include:

  • Delivering a platform prototype that demonstrates best-in-class capacity for understanding materials design, origin, fabrication, performance, and failure.
  • Supporting the development of a portfolio of application case studies leveraging large-scale data sets.

Key qualifications include:

Required Skills and Qualifications

Expertise in software engineering, programming languages such as Python, Java, and C++, as well as experience with agile development methodologies.

A strong background in research translation projects, collaboration with entrepreneurs, and industry partners is essential.

Applicants must be Australian citizens, permanent residents, or hold a New Zealand Special Category Visa (subclass 444).
