Position Overview

The role involves providing a consistent methodology and responsibilities for the installation of large-scale Solar Energy Systems and associated Electrical components. Responsibilities include the installation and testing of Electrical Equipment and circuitry. This position encompasses installations regardless of the manufacturers and suppliers involved.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Interpret and comprehend Mechanical and Electrical assembly schematics and specifications.
  2. Recognize components of a Solar tracking system.
  3. Determine the orientation and elevation of various components.
  4. Explain the functionality of Solar components.
  5. Execute the installation of Solar PV Systems and mounting apparatus, including but not limited to:
    1. Setting up Underground raceways, Above ground raceways, and cable supports.
    2. Installing Direct burial cables.
    3. Setting up Transformers, Inverters, Batteries, Poles, Switch-racks, Combiners, Controllers, Data boxes, weather stations, GPS, and Sun Trackers.
  6. Pull, terminate, and test medium voltage A/C cables.
  7. Pull, terminate, and test D/C cables.
  8. Ensure correct D/C polarity is maintained.
  9. Possess knowledge regarding the assembly sequence of a Solar Tracker system.
  10. Understand the connection sequence of module strings.
  11. Work safely around energized circuits and utilize testing equipment.
  12. Conduct tests on Solar PV, String circuits, and Combiner Box circuits.
  13. Comprehend and install grounding systems with appropriate attachment methods.
  14. Transport, unload, and restock materials, tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  15. Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials and components during installation.
  16. Maintain a tidy, organized, and safe work environment.
  17. Navigate uneven terrain safely while carrying tools and materials.
  18. Climb ladders and work at heights as required.
  19. Perform various tasks involving the safe and skilled use of hand tools.
  20. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
