Energy Storage Business Development Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and understand customer needs, market trends, and input from across organizational leadership to align product strategy and roadmap in the Energy Storage market segment.
  • Identify opportunities, prepare proposals for RFPs, budget, and price, negotiate price and contract terms, and conduct post-bid analysis.
  • Develop and engage early adopter customers in testing and launching new Energy Storage products and solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and business plans for product or service improvement, customization, remodeling, and new product/sales/service development.
  • Assess operational issues regarding competitiveness, staying current with trends, innovations, and pricing while staying up-to-date with external and internal developments in the environment for identifying new market segments.
  • Align with internal development and delivery teams or external suppliers to ensure consistency in product and schedule expectations. Conduct and participate in midterm and final product design reviews to assess product quality.
  • Work with field marketing and sales teams in managing product launch processes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Energy Storage, Wind, and Solar industry.
  • Proven track record of business development experience.
  • Confident decision-making in regards to determining product guidelines, purpose, and following through and completion.
  • Understanding of financial reports, including budgetary guidelines and product expenditures.
  • Entrepreneurial background in sales capacity.
  • Can-do personality, competitive, and driven.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams.
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and proactively without supervision.
  • Excellent organizational, strategic, planning, and implementing skills.
  • Ability to travel as required – expected travel requirement approx. 50-60%.
